StorySpace update for July 31st

StorySpace update for July 31st
by Yana Sherman

This week Nicolette Heavey was our feature at Story Space.  She shared some wonderful memories of her British mother, including making elaborate Sunday dinners and being a Girl Scout leader.  The Open Mic was an eclectic mix that included Young Republicans getting drunk at Ronald Regan's inauguration and love between two stand-up comedians. You never know what is going to happen at Story Space, so you'd best not miss it.

This coming week our feature is Harry Mishkin.  He will tell tales of turbulent times,  based on his experience during the 60's, 70's and 80's.  Follow his rants and reflections of America's recent history. Harry has been a frequent contestant in Story Slams of the last few seasons.

The evening will begin with an Open Mic at 7 p.m., in which tellers get eight minutes to try new material or share an old favorite.  First-time tellers are guaranteed a spot and listeners are always welcome.

Our venue is handy to Central Square.  The gallery is cozy and invites creativity.  A $5 donation is suggested so that we can continue the tradition of Tuesday night stories, now in its third decade.
