All the Exes were in Cambridge Sunday night!

First place winner Caro Bosca
relives the joy of flying.
As sixty some non-Grammy watching story lovers lounged on pillows and relaxed on sofas Sunday night in The Enormous Room's living-room-like atmosphere, ten brave souls shared stories about their exes. The "Ex-files"opened in Cambridge covered ex-roommates, bosses, jobs, home states, spouses and landlords. The stories ranged from hilarious to somber and everything in between.

The evening's co-hosts, long-time story teller Bruce Marcus, new-to-the-scene J. Michael Remy, and the lovely and hysterical Diana "Valentine" Weisner, kept the evening fresh and entertaining as they, too, shared stories about their exes. Diana shared her promiscuous past with the audience as she revealed that she tricked her kindergarten sweetheart into allowing her to kiss him multiple times by claiming she wanted to tell him a secret!

Slam winners Josh and Caro!
The story telling quality was as high as the elevated stage as the judges awarded an unprecedented three story tellers perfect high scores of 10.0. Tellers Caro Bosca, Josh Velazquez, and Dan Dahari were the judged favorites for the night. First place winner Caro Bosca had the crowd on the edge of their cushions as she related that her most favorite job as a sign-towing bi-plane pilot ended the day the sign she thought she had in tow fell from her coworker's plane onto the wing of her plane and ended in disaster. Luckily, she made it out alive! Caro won a $50 gift certificate to The Enormous Room, a massmouth "winner" t-shirt, and the opportunity to tell it all again in the Big Mouthoff at the Boston Public Library on April 26th where she could win a week in Tuscany, Italy!!

Audience Choice winner
 Dan Dahari.
Josh Velazquez took second place with his crowd-hushing story of leaving his home, his job, and his life behind as he fled his beloved New Orleans prior to the landfall of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. As always, the audience had the last word when they chose Dan Dahari as their choice for best story of the evening. Dan had the audience practically falling off their cushions in stitches as he related how his ex-landlord dealt with a simple misunderstanding that ended with Dan moving back home - with haste and glee. Dan was also the fan favorite at the February 7th slam at Kennedy's Midtown where he told a story on the theme "Love Objects." Both Josh and Dan will have the honor of competing in the slam season finals.

Do you have a story to tell? Come out to Jamaica Plain this Sunday night, February 20th, at 6:30 p.m. and share your tale involving "Beasts"!
