Braving weather that co-host Brian O'Donovan said " We emigrated here to avoid weather like this!" a full house of listeners, judges and slammers were regaled in a fine set of stories. Brian O'Donovan also told two wonderful stories about life in Clonakilty, Ireland and sang a story song about the Irish American connection that was outrageously funny in its totally believable coincidental ending. Our slam contestants were: Jim Stahl, Doug Lipman, Diane Postoian, Doria Hughes, Robert Fairchild,Tony Toledo, Kevin Brooks, Robin Maxfield, Karen Chace, and Christian DeTorres. The judges, ably led and organized by Bambi Good include Torena Webb, Rosie Fairchild, Rachel Lovett, Laura Packer and other astute volunteers. The winner was Doug Lipman with runner up Robin Maxfield. They are in the finals at Rabb Hall at the Copley Library on April 20th. Last chance to get into the finals is on MARCH 21st at Ryles Jazz Club. Hosted by storyteller extraordinaire Kevin Brooks, assisted by comic Ilene Fischer and the theme is "in like a lion".
