Prizes at the slam?

Prizes at the monthly slam?Well, yes. But that is not all. A friend with a huge heart, who is a strong supporter of live performance of story, had a great idea to draw stories and tellers to our events. She has given us a very dreamy, fabulous and fairy tale like grand prize for the grand finale of our slams. A week in a medeival town house in Tuscany.

We thought it pretty cool that we had t-shirts and a
$50 gift certificate for the winner each month.
And Paul H. - last month's winner seemed pretty happy about it -
though the prizes seemed just icing on the cake for him.


Yet, as co-host Maria Ciampa said " All I ever got in standup
was half a flat beer!" So, the monthly prizes seemed pretty damn
cool - thanks to Kennedy's Midtown. But this grand prize
knocked our socks off and then made us scramble for some other
prizes and looks like we will have 3 pretty nice prizes for our
BigMouthoff winners in April 2010. But the grand prize beats all.

Where: Restored town house within the medieval walls of Sarteano

This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps six has a fully equipped kitchen,
dining room and a living room with fireplace stove.

Sarteano, home to 4000 souls, give or take and is crowned by a 1000 year old castle and is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards . Sarteano is near Montepulciano and Siena, as well as Cortona (“Under the Tuscan Sun”), Assisi, Orvieto, and Pienza, to name a few. Sarteano is also only about two hours from Rome and two hours from Florence.

When: Vacation must be within one year of the massmouth Big MassMouthof grand Finale, and
is for one week (Saturday to Saturday). $1000 value. This prize may not be traded, "cashed in" or resold. Winner may gift it once.

Details: You must be a member of massmouth.ning.com to participate in Big Mouthoff and be a resident of Massachusetts (full time students in MA are eligible). The winner will be given contact information for the homeowner so that dates can be arranged to their mutual satisfaction. massmouth reserves the right to add to guidelines and rules as the Big Mouthoff approaches.
